A new technology has been harnessed in the battle against spam. Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is the new addition to the anti-spam arsenal. How freaking cool is it? Some of you may have received spam where it does not actually contain text but a graphic containing the irritating spam message. This is a method employed by spammers to by-pass spam detection engines. OCR is not THE solution to our problems as it does introduce false positives but is still a work-in-progress.
There is hope!!!
