Pimp my ride?

Check out this ride!!! Funky and cool. Nice colour too. Nothing beats a well-maintained classic car.

Why?

Why do Indians carry objects using their head? I tried it before and I find it both tiring and painful on the supporting arm but my head as well.

Autumn

Had to stop to admire this row of bushes becoz of the nice yellow hue. Is it autumn again?

Strange

Football is the undisputed most popular sport in the world so its strange that there has not been a single amazing Football-themed movie. The movie "Goal" is a decent effort but it pales in comparison with Basketball-themed movies like "Love and Basketball", "Passing Glory" and "White Men Can't Jump".
Green Street Hooligans is one movie that has a good story but its based on a group of football fans and not a team or players. Still waiting for a good football movie.

Applause

Congrats to the newly crowned EPL Champions, Chelski. Not only did they avoid defeat that would have sealed the championship but they did it in style by hammering Man Utd. Kudos to them. I'm not a Chelsea or Man Utd fan but I'm glad as Chelsea is the lesser of two evils.
Latest update: Didn't watch the game but it turned out that Mourinho threw his Championship medal into the crowd. Whoever got it is one lucky bastard!!! Rooney got injured in the game and will be out a minimum of six weeks. Oh boy!!! There goes England's chance to win the World Cup. I love this quote "Back in the days when Chelsea were rubbish and many of the supporters who celebrated their success today were wearing red Manchester United shirts, the merest hint of glory brought a shiver down the spine of genuine Blues followers." Aptly describes a group of fans who only support successful teams, kinda like nomads.

LBJ does it again!!!

LBJ continues to make history. After becoming only the 3rd player in history to post a triple-double in their playoff debut, he scored the most points in a postseason road debut in game 3!!! Grrrrrrrrrr... I need to get Cable TV soon becoz I'm missing so many NBA playoff games.

Sexology

My fren thot that I was pulling his leg when I said my university offered Sexology as a course. Not only do they offer Bachelor courses but Masters and PhD as well. You guys rushing to sign up yet?

Underdog

Nobody loves an underdog more than me becoz I had to live with that same tag my whole life. The sports teams that I support, Blackburn being one of them, are usually underdogs and not perennial champions becoz I enjoy watching grit and determination. Grit and determination comes first before tradition and flair. I may suffer disappointment frequently but when they do trump the bigger, more talented and favoured teams to beat the odds, the feeling is unbelievable. I remembered being elated after watching Blackburn win the League cup against Tottenham in 2002 even though they were totally dominated but managed to grind out a result and hang on to lift the trophy.
The only exception would be the Lakers I guess but the reasons I support them is becoz of their tradition and I fell in love with them in the 80s when Magic used to play with them. But then again... they are the underdogs this year and nobody thinks that they can get past the Suns. Well we shall see... I love nothing more than the underdogs rising to the occasion. *smirks*
Latest update: The Lakers take game 3 to lead the series 2-1 against the Suns.

Break

Noticed this when I was having a break in the office canteen. Nice. Have a good long weekend guys!!!

Windows justification

Reason enuff to prefer Windows? Haha.

Never flat?

A basketball that stays inflated longer. Sure or not? Hmmmmm. I guess we have to try it to believe it. Getting this ball DS?

おいしい

I finally had a chance to savour Oishi Japanese pizza today. How does it taste? Hahahahahaha. Check Babelfish for the translation ;p

Arsenal vs Barca

I didn't get the dream Arsenal vs Lyon final I wanted but then I will settle for an Arsenal vs Barca one. Not much of a Milan admirer but used to love watching Barca when my idol, Figo, used to play for them.
While I'm on the topic of football, I was reading comments made by Kobe Bryant's dad about Kobe being the shoo-in for MVP. His dad, Joe, used to play professional basketball in Italy when Kobe was a kid. In the article, Joe revealed that Kobe was actually a Juventus fan when he was young and wanted to be a professional footballer!!! He played goalie becoz the Italian kids in the neighbourhood hogged the playground playing football.

Wireless defense

Hey guys... consider installing !@#$%^&* avoid this tool* to protect your PC if you have a wireless network at home like the plague... not unless you want your computer to keep performing core dumps and preventing you from using it**. There is more risk associated with using wireless at home versus a wired network becoz a malicious party does not need to have physical access to your premises to join your wireless network.

* But do note that the vendor has a disclaimer stating that they don't support it.
** Tried and tested and yup... AirDefense made the right decision to place a disclaimer that they don't support it.

New "neighbour"

It turns out that I'm not the only sleepy head in the neighbourhood early this morning. Caught a glimpse of this cat half asleep. The sky was full of "cotton balls" again this morning. Mmmmmmmmmm.
The very same cat was at the foot of my block when I came home tonite. Looks like it has made the estate its new home.

Refreshing

Microsoft is always being criticised for having an insecure OS while Linux and Mac OS are touted as being more secure. So this article is refreshing as it debunks that claim. Cool!!!

This takes the cake

The RIAA goes after a family for piracy but the family is pleading their innocence becoz they dun even own a PC.

Secure file deletion

What happens when you select a file and click delete? "Duh!!!" You must be thinking but I do have a point here. Pressing the "Delete" button doesn't actually eradicate the file... the OS just forgets that its there. It is possible to recover that "deleted" file. That is good news if you accidentally deleted a file but bad news if you want a sensitive document to be permanently destroyed.
So what are your options if you want to achieve the latter? There are secure file deletion tools like Eraser that can be used to simply overwrite the file several times to make it irrecoverable. How many times does the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) recommend? 7. A New Zealander, Gutmann, recommends 35!!!
How effective is the Gutmann method? As The Sushiman put it... "even God wouldn't recover after 35 passes".

How do they do it?

I had Cafe Latte from Spinelli. My fren had the same drink and both had the same pattern. Amazing.

Some people have all the luck

This granny hit the jackpot when she was done to her last few coins. Well I'm not a gambler so I'm not going to try my luck to emulate her... congrats to her.

Luxury

What's better than sitting down at a nice cafe, reading a book* and chilling out? There are few luxuries that can beat this... hahahaha.

* Its a textbook but bo pian leh. Haha.

American Dad!!!

OMG!!! Just realised that "American Dad" is available on DVD... wooooooo... I'm so tempted.

Here comes the rain again*

Darn!!! The rain clouds crept into the bright sky again and poured down upon us. I can't wait for the rainy season to be over.

* Classic Eurythmics song. I love them!!!

Strange

The Elise was not meant to be dark blue in colour. Evidence? Here you go. Buay sui leh.

Disturbing

Its disturbing that in this day and age, kids are still being exploited. Reading this article serves as a timely reminder to me to stop griping about my life and enjoy it. Live life!!!

LBJ rocks

Its easy to forget that LeBron is only 21 years old but in his first ever playoff game, notched a triple-double and win!!! LEGEND. Only two other players had a triple-double on their playoff debut and one of them is my all-time fav, Magic Johnson. LBJ has my vote for MVP but his shoe sucks big time. Hahahaha. He needs to get Nike to do something about it.

Elephants

If I had to choose an animal as an analogy for Singaporeans, it would definitely have to be the elephant. Why you ask? Becoz they have a nasty habit of throwing themselves down onto the seats on trains and buses. I can't go one day without someone doing that resulting in my body weight being jerked violently skyward. Oh... and they stomp too.
Sickening.

Its been awhile*

Its been just a week and "The Tree" has morphed again. Last week it was full of flowers and now its flowerless.

* Song by Staind.

Haha

My Mac-hugging frens will love this!!! The bad guys in the TV show "24" use Windows machines while the good guys use... yup... you guessed it... Macs!!! Amusing.

Breathtaking

I pass by this spot every morning and can't help but stop to admire the wonderful view of the sky even though I'm late. I don't know what it is about this spot but it seems that God has chosen this specific part of the enormous sky as his canvas to paint on.

Feast

It was my first time eating at "No Signboard Seafood Restaurant". Can't complain... it was a treat from April's uncle. Hehehehehe. Not bad lah... got lobster, battered frog's legs, fried prawns with oats and chilli crab. Oh oh... with man tou. Mmmmmmmm. Btw this was not the entire feast *wink*

The calm before the storm

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Bball was cancelled again. See the transition as the sky darkens and comes pouring down. It was so heavy that I could hardly see the blocks opposite.

I didn't get my weekly dose of violence and adrenaline. *grumble*

Pringle can antenna

As extracted from whatis.com, war driving is "is the act of locating and possibly exploiting connections to wireless local area networks while driving around a city or elsewhere... you need a vehicle... a laptop... a wireless card... an antenna which can be mounted on top of or positioned inside the car... an outside user may be able to intrude into the network, obtain a free Internet connection, and possibly gain access to company records and other resources."
Aaaahhhh. An antenna? Where does one go about to obtain one? Here you go. Interesting... you can make one out of your empty Pringle potato chip can!!! Coooooool.

Nuts!!!

A kindergarten was featured in the news. They came up with this idea of opening a cafe run by their students. They "work" as waiters, waitresses, cashiers, etc to give them the experience of working life. For goodness sakes!!! They're kids... let them have their fun. They have plenty of time later to gain working experience and have the rest of their adult lifes to slog for the "man". The kindergarten staff are sick people.

Speeding saves lives?

Came across this on the web. Hahahahhaha.

My preciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiioouus

Hahahhahaha. You're finally mine. Wahahahhahahaha.

Rare sight

Its so hard to come across Chinese Opera on display nowadays. I fear that these traditions would very soon become extinct. What can we do to get the young interested and carry on the tradition?

Late again?

Yeeeeeeeeeaaaap!!! Hahahahhaaha... I was late again but then again... I had the chance to see this gem. I've run out of superlatives.

Gorgeous

Not that I need an excuse to be late for work... but here you go!!! I don't feel guilty for being half an hour late anymore. And NO... these pics were not doctored but "Au naturel".

Guess?

Trust the Japs to create something like this. Can't figure out what it is yet? Its a piece of chocolate shaped like a breast. A "gift" from my colleague who just got back from his vacation.

Which Transformer are you?

This is my result from taking the quiz.

You are Hot Rod. You are an all around good person. You follow rules until they get on your nerves, then you throw out the rule book and start shooting. You tend to act first and that sometimes gets you into trouble, but you've got it under control. You have this incredible need to do what you think is right. When you find yourself in charge, you are rather uncomfortable, but you have the savvy to get the job done. Rock on with your hot-headed self.

Blog type

This is supposed to be my blogging personality. Sound like it?

Your Blogging Type is Unique and Avant Garde

You're a bit ... unusual. And so is your blog.
You're impulsive, and you'll often post the first thing that pops in your head.
Completely uncensored, you blog tends to shock... even though that's not your intent.
You tend to change your blog often, experimenting with new designs and content.

There is a season (turn turn turn)*

This tree is very unique and always catches my eye when I'm taking the MRT train from Redhill. It changes with the seasons and reminds me that time is continually passing me by. The last time I checked, its leaves were turning brown and dropping off. Now its flowering... amazing.

* Lyrics of the song "Turn turn turn" by the Byrds. It was featured in the "Forrest Gump" soundtrack. Love this song.

Stories of the day

Got a few amusing stories for your entertainment. A Malaysian man received a phone bill for 806 trillion Ringgit!!! Insane.
Queen Elizabeth sent her first email the year I was born!!! Yes... the Internet existed then but it was just limited to exclusive organisations like the Military and research organisations.

Niah liao lor!!!

I was walking along Telok Ayer and there was this guy seated outside the McDonalds outlet. He was rolling a few cigarettes for himself. So what's so strange? He was using 4D tickets to roll his tobacco!!! Talk about recycling. If he's not going to die from smoking... the 4D tickets are definitely going to get him.

Obscene

I find the news that Wayne Rooney chalking up a £700,000 gambling debt disgusting. Its indecent that someone can take this type of $$$ for granted as its more than what your typical human being earns in a year!!!

Taking things for granted

DS's brudder-in-law works for HP so I just mentioned to him the fact that there was a recent bulletin that HP printer software has a flaw that can be exploited. He was surprised that a tool, such as a printer which we use on a daily basis and take for granted, could be exploited. Yes people... they can.
Another interesting "exploit"... podslurping.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesss!!!

I feel rejuvenated!!! Finally after having been disappointed the past two Sundays... the sun was out and I was able to crash the boards and score like Kobe. I feel soooooooo alive.
"I feel so alive for the very first time
I can’t deny you
I feel so alive
I feel so alive for the very first time
And I think I can fly*"

* Chorus from P.O.D.'s song "Alive". In case you didn't know, P.O.D. stands for Payable On Death becoz they're a Christian rock band.

The city at nite

A glimpse of the city at nite from a carpark. I think the "gah-men" is onto something by proposing that buildings in the CBD area use better lighting to make the Singapore skyline brighter at nite. I look forward to a brighter future. Hahahahahaha... pardon my corniness.
