WTF!!!

How can a footballer who earns £50,000 a week notch up so much debt that he is declared legally bankrupt?

The "Iron Lady"

ML revealed over Blue Mountain coffee that she is an ironing freak. She irons everything from her bedsheets, pillowcase to her towels. She even irons her socks when she has free time on her hands!!!

Hedonism

How much more hedonistic can one be? Enjoyed a pot of Blue Mountain coffee together with ML at The Shangri-La. The coffee came together with nuts and corn chips. Mmmmmmmm.

Fatmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan

Love Satay especially the ones from Fatman Satay*. Too bad they don't sell Duck satay. Got the Duck satay from another stall ;p

* Stall no. 1 at Lau Pa Sat.

"Support your troops"

Was admiring this mural that was spray painted onto the pavement along the old NAFA. I love it because I'm a Star Wars fanatic and its well painted.

Sun bathing

Witnessed this cat enjoying the morning sun on the way to Cisco's seminar today. Man! The Cisco event was painfully boring and I fell asleep in the ballroom.

New York New York

The restaurant name reminds me of the Frank Sinatra song. Finally got a chance to sample their food while celebrating a colleague's birthday. Had a Philly Cheese Steak sandwich and enjoyed washing it down with the nice cold Coke Float. Looking forward to my next trip there.

New Windows vuln

There is a new reported vulnerability in Windows. The immediate solution to avoid being compromised while surfing is to use Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer 7 in Windows Vista. For email attacks, read emails in plain text format instead of HTML.

Scam!!!

I hate it when giant conglomerates think they can get away with conning their consumers.

Crooked back

I have a back injury and thought it would get me off the hook with RT. Guess again!!! The MO only excused me for 2 months even though the GP recommended 6 months. DOH!!! I'm going to go for physiotherapy and hope it solves my problem.

65-50-60-50

Kobe scores at least 50 points over the past four games! Only Wilt Chamberlain has a longer streak in NBA history. Wow.

Fav Electrico song

Definitely has to be "Hello". It is in my opinion THE Electrico song. It is hard to classify Electrico into a genre becoz they have so many songs with different styles.

New train

Took a spanking new train to work this morning. Wow! Check out the sparkling green seat. I felt so energised taking this train.

Mismatch

Saw this lady dressed in designer apparel from head to toe including an LV handbag. Where is the mismatch you ask? She was listening to music on a cassette Walkman! Haven't touched one since the Discman entered the market.

Another T-shirt slogan

"Friends are forever, boys are whatever". Another slogan I saw on a T-shirt at YCK MRT station.

Environmentally friendly

Wow! My blog is environmentally friendly as the background is black and this results in less electricity consumed when you read my blog on your screen. Cool!!!

Believe in yourself

Interesting documentary about Gilbert Arenas aka "Agent 0". He tells his story about how no one believed in him when he was in college and when he first entered the NBA. Humbling.

I tell you lah

Singapore is damn small lah... I don't even think "Six degrees of separation" applies to us. Turns out one of the members of Electrico is my friend's friend's boyfriend. Dang!!!

Goal scoring exploits

Paul Robinson makes up for his recent howler with a wonder goal. Wow!

Surprisingly, its not his first career goal. Turns out that he scored for Leeds previously.

Seems that he wants to challenge Peter Schmeichel who scored a few goals during his career.

A montage of Schmeichel's insane exploits. He's definately the greatest keeper ever in my opinion.

Damn "blur"

Damn!!! I'm getting forgetful with age. I headed off to Bedok Camp for my RT* and turned out that I remembered the wrong time. Shit... now I owe them another make-up lesson. Freak. Rushed all the way there for nothing. Grrrrrrrrrrr.

* Remedial training. Physical training lessons for those who failed their physical fitness test.

What a farce

Staff from one of Celtic's shop tried convincing Paul Telfer and Lee Naylor* to buy tickets to enter a draw. What was the price? A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Celtic players and tour the stadium. Hahahahahaha.

*Two Celtic football players.

Wow!!!

How cool is this? I sent Electrico a suggestion via email and they actually replied.
"hey barcajax

thanks for writing. we'll definitely take that into consideration and
we'll try to do something when we're back from the states.

cheers!
daniel"
Wow!!! I'm impressed. Btw both their albums rock... I love them and highly recommend you buy them.

6'11" point guard?

Insane! KG takes over as PG to lead the Wolves' comeback against the Pacers. Talk about dominance.

Woah!

Time to patch my Macbook again. Even M$ doesn't release patches to fix so many vulnerabilities at one go.

Tintin movie

Steven Spielberg is going to helm a Tintin movie. Hope he does a good job. It might help me sell my Tintin watch ;p

Slogan

Saw a lady wearing a T-shirt that had the words "Fat people are harder to kidnap". Haha.

Lakers Top 10 celebrity fans

This is not a made up list. It is a list created by the NBA. You will be surprised by who is in it.

Way cool!

Always wanted to try hacking a Linux machine? Try this out. Extracted from the FAQ... DVL is "s a perverted Linux distribution made to be as insecure as possible". You can download it and run the image then attack it to your heart's content.

WAG

I found another use of the abbreviation WAG*. It can also stand for "weird and gross". I had Roti John at Bedok Food Centre opposite Bedok camp this evening after my RT. It is WAG becoz it was covered in Mayo and Thousand Island!!! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeew. Seriously, Thousand Island only tastes nice with salad. The Serangoon Gardens Roti John is still my favourite as I have yet to find one that can compare with it.
The American Breakfast at Cafe Cartel is quite good. Had it together with April yesterday.

*Abbreviation used for footballers' wives and girlfriends.

St. Andrew's

It was my first time inside of St. Andrew's Cathedral. It is beautiful in its own way but it pales in comparison with the beautiful churches I saw in Italy and France. I feel ashamed it took me so long to visit this historical site. It has a gorgeous pond with Koi.

Coming out of retirement?

Pippen is contemplating coming out of retirement and playing for Phil Jackson again! Wow!!! Pippen playing for the Lakers... can he do it at 41?

Another sunset

Another day, another sunset. No two sunsets are the same. Glorious... so much so that I had to take multiple pictures of the sky.

What is it about Indie films?

Was watching "Little Miss Sunshine" and I love it!!! Indie films are usually creative, genuine, quirky and fun. That's what I love about them. "Little Miss Sunshine" has great scenery and clouds too.

New kicks

Got these gorgeous kicks from a Nike outlet in HK during the CNY period. The major difference between Singapore and HK is that the shops over there still open during the CNY period. I have a similar pair bought in April 05. Wow!!! Can't imagine its been that long already. I think this new pair of mine is a limited edition model becoz I have never seen them in Spore and it has the words "RIP City" on it. Googled and found out that it was made for Rip Hamilton of the Detroit Pistons. How cool is that?

Well what do you know?

Jim flagged this fact out to me. Googling "hedonistic man" returns my blog as the first result. How friggin cool is that?

Another reason to love Firefox

I love Firefox becoz its a powerful browser that allows users to add more functionality to it. Here is another amazing tool that you can add.

Talk about coincidences

Went to the doctor's today. Poor me... sick. Took bus 855 to and from Harbourfront and it was the same driver both trips. Pity the driver though... his break only lasted approximately 30 mins becoz that was how long it took for me to see the doc. What is the likelihood of this happening?

Nostalgic

Collection of cartoons from my childhood. Wow!!! Really brings back memories.

I was a real couch potato when I was a kid.

You've got mail

This mailbox is really well decorated and caught my eye. Its something unique in a uniform Singapore.

The key

The secret to matching up with Ang Mohs is beef and milk it was recently revealed!!! Duh.

Earthquake!!!

Did you feel the tremors? They happened at about 11.40am and 2pm. The first time it happened, my chair in the office was shaking and I thot it was my colleague shaking my chair from behind me. I turned around but didn't see anyone and didn't think much about it until my colleague started shreaking that an earthquake just happened. Its the first time I've experienced something like this. Scary.
Was watching the news and one company actually sent their employees home after the tremors. My company? They didn't even bat an eye about our well being.

Crazy highlights

Nothing like watching a player get a monster block and then throw it down with authority on the other end of the court in the same play. Wow!!!

Self portrait

This pic aptly describes me. Sporty, music lover, laid back and geek.

I know why!

It just occurred to me why Singaporeans do not have a common identity or culture. Singapore has constantly been changing with the times to survive since independence and there was no prolonged period where there was no change. That and the fact that we have only been a republic for 40 years.
However having said that, who said Singaporeans do not have a common identity? When I was in HK, people could tell that I was Singaporean when I went shopping. There obviously must be some identifiable trait that we all share.

Adidas

Ever wondered how the name Adidas came about? Well... it was extracted from their founder's name, Adi Dassler. It is interesting how these famous brand names come about. Another tidbit... did you know Nike is actually the Greek goddess of victory?
More trivia. Puma... Adidas' rival was formed by Adi Dassler's brother, Rudolf.
