Change

I'm adverse to change and not afraid to admit it. This is exactly the reason why I'm worried when I noticed that the local "Ma Ma shop" hasn't opened in awhile. I hope that its only because of the upgrading going on in my estate. This is the very same "Ma Ma shop" that I frequented every Sunday when I was a kid as my grandparents stayed on the 4th floor of that same block. I'm such a sentimental person.
I'm so relieved that my favourite Ipoh Hor Fun stall at River Valley is still around but age is catching up quickly on the Uncle who makes it... but he seems to have found an apprentice who prepared my portion today. Alas... the cozy bookshop at Great World got taken over and in its place is a swanky new bookstore called "Harris". I find the new one less personal.

Pool+Float

Pool and Coke Floats really go well together. Its so hard to find Pool companions nowadays... I practically have to beg people to play. Anyone needs to Pool Buddy... drop me a message.

New pet

Check out April's new pet. I'm not wild about soft toys but this particular one is very well made and cute. She was brought back all the way from Hokkaido to our fair land. Fans of Studio Ghibli will recognise her.

Premonition

I looked up at the sky this morning on the way to the MRT station and had an inkling that it was going to rain later in the day.

Told my colleague that I thought that it would rain in the afternoon and true enough... it drizzled at 5.30ish. Here are some pics taken on the way home while there was a temporary reprieve from the rain.

Was bored becoz its a pretty long ride home so I sms'd my friend "How are you? Are you a mum yet?" as a joke becoz its been such a long time since I've seen her. Her reply? "Soon". Ack!!! What's up with today? I'm suddenly a psychic!!!
Ok ok... this week's 4D winning number... 2410*.

I'm not exaggerating

Didn't play Bball last Sunday becoz D S was down with food poisoning. Poor chap... get well brudder. I noticed that I always feel "off" when I miss Bball on Sundays. I felt very sluggish and unmotivated the whole of this week. No joking!!! Hope disaster* does not strike this coming Sunday. Dying to play ball... need my weekly dose of violence and adrenaline.

Better to be safe than sorry

A lot of my friends wouldn't think twice about clicking a link sent by others via IM or emails but what they don't know is that this is how bad guys compromise their machines. Please... check the validity of website before visiting them. How do you do so? This service inspects the website that you wish to visit and informs you if it is malicious or safe.

Alternative route

Took an alternative route home today. Didn't really save that much time but I did get to gawk at this cloud.

Food galore

Had my fav pig's intestine soup from Tiong Bahru market for lunch... mmmmmmm. Check out the queue. Was tempted by tons of people having fried squid along Orchard today and had to get myself one stick. After finishing the first one, I couldn't get enuff of it and had a second. Haha. Will be a long time before I have some squid again.

Blast from the past

Remember "The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles"? They will be back on the Silver Screen after a lengthy exodus. Justice is going to be done as the fourth instalment will not have dumb actors running around in turtle suits but is computer generated instead. Not a bad attempt in my opinion from viewing the trailer.

"Can one can?"

The Sushiman overheard a lady asking the waiter for a can of soft drink in a restaurant. Haha.

Jazz

I'm a music lover but was never a Jazz fan... decided to give it a go though at the invitation of Jim and Fenn. Went to listen to a band called "Walking on water" at Siloso Beach. Verdict? Not bad lah but not crazy about it. Jim and Fenn look like they're having a ball.

Took some videos of the performance and will be uploading them as soon as the vids get approved. Akan datang.




Had pizza from Trapizza after the performance. Mmmmmm... always had a weakness for wood-fire pizza. Haha... check it out! Sentosa water ;p

The Crystal Method

Love those guys. Just read about how they came up with their name! Crystal was a girl that both of them were in love with. Haha. Turns out that one of them is a Star Wars fanatic like me. Cool.
Jim made a comment about them being the American equivalent of "The Chemical Brothers". Informed him that "The Chemical Brothers" actually named themselves after "The Dust Brothers" but were forced to change it after threat of legal action. Talk about imitation being the best form of flattery.

Fried seaweed

Mmmmmmm. Nuts about fried seaweed... been eating them non-stop since Celia got them for me from Bangkok. Supply running low though. Talk about being hedonistic, I was enjoying the fried seaweed with April while admiring the sunset.

Swamped!!!

My mentor left, resulting in an increase in my workload as I am now solely responsible for the entire Asia... then I was just informed by my U.S. counterpart this afternoon that he will be away for a two week vacation and guess who is picking up the slack? I'm now also responsible for Europe as well!!! Man... I feel so important *sarcastic tone*
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp. My company is really getting a good deal... three for the price of one.
But fear not!!! I'm still the 5.30 maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!!!

PERLing

I attempted to learn PERL but realised that programming simply does not turn me on. I quickly got bored while attempting to go through the PERL book. Finally gave up but this was my progress before I surrendered.

Went to Carl's Jr for dinner. They didn't have Chilli Fries!!! ~!@#$%^&*... the staff said that they ran out of the meat served together with their fries and are waiting for new stock to arrive from the U.S. ?????
