Hysteria

The recent debacle over tainted milk has me amused. No offense to my smoker friends but don't you sense a tinge of irony when people are hysterical over the deaths of 4 babies and numerous kidney stones... whilst thousands die from smoking-related diseases every year?
People are frantic over products with milk in them but still puffing away furiously. 4 infant deaths is 4 too many but we have to put it into context against other misfortunes.

eh..i beg to differ! smokers know of the risks of smoking (thanks to all those unneccessary education that smoking is bad for your health! duh) Essentially, it is their own doing. More people die in road accident than from smoking. And people do get heart & lung diseases even when they are not smokers. In the case of commercial milk, the consumers was not even aware of what they are in for!

True... smoking is a lifestyle choice. I posted purely from the angle of implications to your life expectancy. Has any adult died from tainted milk so far?

Think the only adults who are going to die from this incident would be those who commit suicide because their companies went bankrupt as a result of the scandal or the Chinese government passing death sentences to those people who were responsible.
