Apple recommends AV

Apple has changed their tune. They now recommend their customers install AV software on their Mac OS X systems unlike previous marketing campaigns where they entice buyers by stating that they need not worry about malware. They suggest customers choose from Symantec, McAfee or Intego. Sophos also offers a commercial AV for Mac users. Alternatively, you can install ClamXav which is free.
I've always felt that their marketing claims were dumb. Mac OS X is still a piece of software after all. No software can claim to be vulnerability free. But what can you do? There are people dumb enough to blindly believe marketing FUD. An online poll shows that approximately 67% of 600+ respondents didn't bother installing AV software on their Mac systems.
