Strange

Football is the undisputed most popular sport in the world so its strange that there has not been a single amazing Football-themed movie. The movie "Goal" is a decent effort but it pales in comparison with Basketball-themed movies like "Love and Basketball", "Passing Glory" and "White Men Can't Jump".
Green Street Hooligans is one movie that has a good story but its based on a group of football fans and not a team or players. Still waiting for a good football movie.

Well plenty of "football" themed movies as in American Football but considering that soccer is not really that popular in the US and hollywood churns out a large proportion of the world's movies it might explain why they don't make "soccer" themed films.

True but considering that football is so huge in "the home of Football" ie. England, they could have picked up the slack.
