You were warned!

Beware when u r invited to click on a link or accept a file transfer from someone on your MSN contact list. It probably is a virus enticing you to do so and if you did, u're in deep shit. I have at least two friends in recent weeks who were infected by this virus and asked me to accept a zip file. I asked before I accepted and that was what saved me. I suggest you do the same and practice a healthy dose of caution.

Har.... Now then you tell me...
What do you mean by asking? Any particular virus? Oh dear... My niece has been sending me file transfers. Argh...

Hey, the Darik's Boot and Nuke seems to work. Tried it on Nick's old work laptop... But I only used the default setting as I pressed the start button too quickly without changing the configurations... Damn... But it works!!! Thanks a million.

The MSN virus? Ask the other party if they intend to send you a link or file before accepting. The other person would usually confirm if they want to send you something or realise they've got a virus.
Glad that Darik worked for you. Always read the instructions and customise your configs where possible.
You're welcome.

Yes I was a victim of the virus through the msn. Sigh...had to re format my computer to feel safe again. Glad that it is over now. Certainly a good lesson for me. Will be more careful now.

Better to format lah... better to be safe than sorry. Nowadays viruses and worms are not so straight forward. Usually once an infection happens, they download other forms of malware onto your system so there's tons of junk on it. It's easier to format the whole drive then trying to find and remove all that crap.
Always practice a healthy dose of caution. Once bitten twice shy.
