You were warned!
Beware when u r invited to click on a link or accept a file transfer from someone on your MSN contact list. It probably is a virus enticing you to do so and if you did, u're in deep shit. I have at least two friends in recent weeks who were infected by this virus and asked me to accept a zip file. I asked before I accepted and that was what saved me. I suggest you do the same and practice a healthy dose of caution.
You are what you eat
I strongly believe in this motto which is why I always shake my head when I see long queues frequently outside of Sakae Sushi. It should be named Sucky Sushit instead becoz the food they serve customers is junk as it is often not fresh and of low quality.
I wouldn't queue to eat their food even if it was offered free to me. Thanks but no thanks.

The power of fame
Was watching a documentary on Didier Drogba. He has a beer, chocolate and town named after him!!! Its frightening how popular he is as he is swamped wherever he goes in his home country. His fame even stopped the civil war in Ivory Coast that was raging since 2000. Power!!!

Shocking?
I'm not shocked at Jose Mourinho's departure from Chelsea but just surprised at the timing. I think he probably got tired of being undermined by the owner. I watched the press conference where the temporary manager, Avram Grant, was presented to the press. Avram looked overwhelmed and came across as a scared old man. What a difference from an arrogant and charismatic Mourinho. I never thought I would ever say this but I do miss Mourinho. He is a very engaging person to watch.

Proud!!!
I've never shied away from admitting my pride in being a die-hard Blackburn Rovers fan. Jose Mourinho's compliment makes me even prouder to support this modest club.
"Blackburn, one of the teams identified by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, as adding strength to the Barclays Premier League, proved they were worthy of his praise with some clever attacking play."
I've had enough of the "Boo boys" calling Rovers a thuggish team.

So childish!!!
First it was "tit for tat" when it come to Chinese and American imports... now China and America are pointing fingers at each other and accusing the other party of hacking. Seems very childish to me. It worries me that countries are being led by juvenile leaders when you expect them to display sensibility and maturity.

Visions of a sunset
Title of the song* from "Mr Holland's Opus" OST. Watched that movie recently on Channel 5... darn good movie. It's such a pity Richard Dreyfuss didn't win an Oscar for his role of Mr Holland becoz he did a very good job. Some people are just unlucky.
I don't have a good new pic of a sunset but I do have one of a sunrise. Nice illumination of the clouds. Took it while waiting for my morning bus to work.
* It was sung by Shawn Stockman* of Boyz II Men fame.

404 error pages
The "404 error" or "Page not found" message simply put indicates that a page that a user wants to visit is not available.
A technical definition from W3C.
"The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent."
Definition as extracted from Wikipedia:
"The 404 or Not Found error message is an HTTP standard response code indicating that the client was able to communicate with the server but either the server could not find what was requested, or it was configured not to fulfill the request and not reveal the reason why."
There is no reason why a 404 error page has to be boring.

Watch what you click!!!
Before you click on a link... how do you know the link is legit and not malicious? There have been reports of malicious links being posted in Blogger blogs.
Beware!!! Besides having an antivirus software installed and updated daily, it would be wise to check links using LinkScanner Lite before clicking on them.

Cloak and dagger stuff?
Ever wondered if your email has been read by someone else other than you? A nifty trick to monitor your inbox. Seems a bit simplistic to me but it may just work.

So rude!!!
Its been raining cats and dogs recently. I sheltered April onto the bus on Sunday evening and since I had the brolly open... I decided to shelter two ladies who were also boarding the bus. They got onto the bus without getting wet... but not a single peep from them... not a single "thank you" or even a smile of appreciation. So rude!!!

Lesson NOT learnt!!!
First it was rootkits in CDs and now rootkits in USB sticks!!! Sony didn't learn their lesson after all. Since the Sony CD debacle in November 2005, I have since boycotted Sony products. I'm definitely not letting anyone stick their Sony USB sticks into my PCs and laptops.
Besides the risk of rootkits in USB sticks, there's also the social engineering aspect to compromising computers. There was an instance where auditors placed a Trojan Horse into USB sticks and dropped them off at selected areas of the company they were auditing. Of the 20 USB drives "deposited", 15 were picked up by employees and plugged into their PCs without any hesitation. Understand why USB ports need to be secured now? User awareness only gets you so far. More needs to be done to counter stupidity.
