I've played Bball with several Chinese nationals before and I observed that they all display common traits. What are they? Chinese nationals are only interested in scoring, do not understand the concept of teamwork to pass the "rock" or sacrifice their bodies to perform screens for others and are lazy to defend. My "teammate" this evening didn't bother attempting to mark my player when he beat me on the dribble. When I questioned him about it, he said "what's the point?". My furious reply was then why bother playing? Sheesh!!!
This is my motivation to play more regularly. A new ball bought during the recently started GSS*.

Celluloid skyline
I love NY!!! Probably mentioned this countless times before. I've been there twice in my life so far and I'm looking forward to my next trip there. Though I can't physically be there now... I visit NY in television series and movies. Its fascinating when shows and movies capture the changing mood, essence and skyline of NY.
Cyberstalked
Scary story about Chester Bennington, lead singer of Linkin Park, being cyberstalked for a year.

Pirates of the Carribean: At World's End
Not a mind provoking movie but a fun watch if you're a Pirates fan. I did spot a mistake though. Chow Yuen Fat's character says "Welcome to Singapore" but the movie is based in the 18th Century when Singapore was actually referred to as Singapura as named by Sang Nila Utama.

Oden or Durant?
That's the million dollar question. Who will be drafted first? I'm intrigued by this draft and dying to watch both play in the league. Who will be the Rookie of the Year?

Minutes To Midnight
Linkin Park's latest effort... less screaming and a change from their norm. I give the album 4 out of 5 stars. Worth buying and listening to. The first track is a nice instrumental song and other noteworthy songs include "Leave out all the rest", "What I've done" and "Hands held high". There is a version of the album that includes a "Minutes To Midnight" T-shirt for a few dollars more. I got mine :p
What is it about songs that have the lyric "fuck" in them? I love them!!! "Hands held high" has that word in it. Extracted from the song:
"My brother had a book he would hold with pride
A little red cover with a broken spine.
In the back he hand wrote a quote inside,
when the rich wage war, it's the poor who die."
Wow! Profound.

Life is unfair
Liverpool were in control in the first half but were unlucky to go down 1-0 to a deflected freekick after 44 minutes. Cruel to concede a goal just before halftime and when Milan didn't seem to threaten. They conceded again trying to equalise. After the 2005 final where they came from 3-0 down, I think Liverpool used up all their luck during that fateful game.

Favouritism
You can deny it all you want but it does exists in the office. I recently heard someone candidly refer to it as a "Long Hu Bang" where a boss has his favourites and how they rank in this eyes.

Cyberwarfare
First suspected case of one state conducting Cyberwarfare against another. Nothing like a good old DOS.

Fav Wantan Mee
Had my fav Wantan Mee from Old Airport Rd Market. You have to get a queue number before collecting your bowl. I was upset that my fav Rojak stall was not open. Another good Wantan Mee stall is Parklane Wantan Mee. I always have it before I play Pool ;p
Survivor
My ICT is finally over *relief* Its been awhile since I've been in the jungle for so many days. I nearly "went postal" on the 3rd nite as I had been bitten like mad continuously since the start of the exercise. I was bitten on my face, neck, arms, hands, back and legs. I had 20+ Mozzie bites on my left hand alone. Did I mention that I didn't shower and shit for the entire exercise? I also got a bad rash on both hands resulting in cracked skin. Army exercises are really bad for your health. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!

Transamerica
Just finished watching this movie. Very original story and touching as well. Highly recommended. It is fascinating how ugly and mannish they made Felicity Huffman look in the movie. Goes to show that if you're ugly in a movie, it more or less guarantees you an Oscar. Trivia... did you know that Felicity is married to William H. Macy?

Xiao on!
I reached the halfway mark of my ICT. My new CO is from an Infantry background. That's fine by me except that he tries to impose his Infantry ways on us NSmen! Especially since we are techicians used to our own service ways. He has just come on board and he is already asking us to do insane stuff like going for 5 day field exercise and putting camo on our faces. I didn't even put camo on during my active days! This coming week is going to be tough.

Will this work?
Its an interesting concept but doubt that it can be applied to Singapore because of land constraints.
Kleptomaniac
klep·to·ma·ni·a
Came across this term in the newspapers. There's this 26 year old Singaporean lady who keeps landing herself in court because she can't stop stealing.
An obsessive impulse to steal regardless of economic need.

Much improved
I remember watching Adebayor in his first season with Arsenal... his first touch and shooting was horrendous. Was just watching the EPL highlights on Channel 5 and he has greatly improved. Must be the tutoring from Thierry Henry.

Surprising
I'm amazed by the number of free tools that you can install on a Mac. Check this out. I'm connected to my Windows desktop from my MacBook and playing Football Manager 2007! Woooo.
