Wolfram|Alpha is a new search engine that aims to compliment Google rather than compete with it. I would describe it as a search engine that provides scientific/mathematical answers to queries rather than producing your typical search result with tons of links for you to sift through. Examples of queries you can make are found here.
Came across another search engine, Cuil, in a linked article. It also has a unique way of presenting search results that is unconventional.
